RDCS PTA is working to expand our ranks and we need YOU!

In order to build a sustainable organization that can help support Riverside Drive in all ways for years to come, we need people like you to take on small jobs throughout the year. From planning Spooky Movie Night to taking on weekly communications, there's something for every skill and capacity level. We're all busy, overworked, and overscheduled, but together we can help each other and help keep RDCS a wonderful community resource for all our school families.   

When adults volunteer, all students benefit!

We are always looking for people to help with events and committees.

Not all events require you to be a "badged volunteer" but it does help to have it! 

Here's a list of some of the committees and events that typically need volunteers throughout the year: 

• Kinder/New Family Playdate - August 
• Kona Ice Truck Social - August  
• Coffee Mornings - Monthly
• Dine Outs - Monthly 
• Raise Craze / Fall Fundraiser - October  
• Hygiene Kit Drive - (Sept/Oct) 
• Spooky Movie Night (October; planning Aug-Oct) 
• Bingo Night - January 
• Bowling Day - February 
• Dodger Family Day - April/May 
• Beautification Day(s) - March/June  
• Silent Auction - Spring (planning Jan-May) 
• Spring Fundraiser - March-April  
• Spring Fair - May (planning Jan-May) 
• Rocky Mascot (Year-Round)  
• School Tour PTA Rep (Year-Round) 
• Sometimes we have events that need additional help on the day of the event, this includes set-up and break-down, manning PTA booths, concession sales, spirit wear sales etc...

If we cannot find people to help with these jobs, we will unfortunately not be able to run that event/fundraiser, and our school community will suffer for this. We will start to lose valuable enrichment programming and events. This has an impact on every single one of our children, and we need to find a way to make it all happen! 

Member Expectations:

- Contribute to monthly meetings

- Actively support school-wide enrichment programs

- Support arts integration and skills learning

- Connect arts content, resources, and professional development opportunities

- Communicate progress, projects, and proposals to the Governance Council

2024 - 2025 Activities

- Lead PDs to support Arts needs including sublimation machine, poster maker, PA systems

- Support Theater/Drama program

- Co-lead STArt Night

- Lead Family Art Night

- Support Student Council's Talent Showcase

- Book arts assemblies

- Share recommended CAP & ELOP experiences by grade level with teachers

- Identify afterschool programs available

- Co-plan and build Maker Space
